A New Start for Valerie

On December 11, my sister Valerie (aka Vikki) returned from work to find her home of 12 years destroyed by a fire. All of her belongings were lost. Even worse, her beloved pets all perished in the fire--a heartbreaking loss for her.
Valerie is a very kind and gentle soul. She is not someone who will dwell for long on the loss of her material possessions. Her pets, however, were her family and she took care of them lovingly. It will take time for her to grieve the loss of her animals and we all know they can never be replaced.
As Valerie begins her healing process, she now also needs to try to find another place to live and begin to rebuild her life one step at a time. I created this fundraiser to provide a way for people who want to help her to have a way to contribute to her new beginning. There is no donation too small. She was left with only the clothes she was wearing when she left the house that day.
I am grateful that my sister was not home during this tragedy. As she begins her journey to her life's next chapter, I am grateful for all of those who have reached out and for all of the offers to help. I know, with the support from family, friends, and the community she will become whole again.
