Our sweet mom, Valerie, recently found out that she has a tumor mass the size of a fist in her lower abdomen and has had to be hospitalized multiple times, and is now undergoing radiation & chemotherapy treatment and has had a significant amount of medical bills that she has to pay for all her Emergency Room visits and operations. We are asking for help with these bills, because we by no means have the ability to pay them without going into great debt.

Anyone who knows our mother, knows that she’s a warrior and will not give up without a fight although this has taken a toll on her financially and emotionally. Our Mom has sat many times with tears brewing in her eyes, but she fights back every day to face another bout of pain, chemo and unexpected visits to the hospital. Even though the bottles of pills on her dresser get larger every week, she battles on, trying to still work at Western Carolina University and manage our little Airbnb to keep herself going with the basic necessities. We can only be positive and encouraging in this tough time so she knows we're all behind her -- she mustn't give up! She means so much to my brother and I, and especially her grandson, Jordan. I can't imagine Jordan growing up without his grandmother, she's his rock!

My brother, Justin, has been away working for months at a time, trying to help with bills. I have also been working as much as I can to help, but with our having so little family here in the area, I have to take off work to help my mom at the hospital and home, so what I can contribute is barely a dent in the cost of the scans, hospital visits, radiation and chemo medications.
