Valerie and Terry, starting over after floods
Donation protected
Hi, my name is April Harding. I am asking for your help.
When the storm of June 22nd hit Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, my mother Valerie Alexander and my stepfather Terry Crowell lost just about everything they owned including most of their house and yard. The floods came with such force that it caved in their garage door, rushed through the walls and flooded their lower level to the ceiling! This is where their bedroom and all of their storage are located. They were able to grab all of the dogs and put them upstairs but unfortunately, besides what Terry could grab of his camera equipment, they were not able to save much else. In no time at all their mattress was at the ceiling and the waters were raging all around their home.
I have never felt so helpless knowing I could do nothing to help. Anyone who knows my mother and Terry know they are the last people to ask for or accept help.. but they REALLY need it now.
Unfortunately, they do not have any coverage.
They are left to do every bit of cleanup and rebuilding their lives and home out of pocket.
I know these times are tough for all of us. I know the cost of living is making us all tread water daily. Even so, I am asking you from the bottom of my heart to please give anything you can to two of the people with the biggest hearts that I know. My mother and Terry would give the shirts off their backs and the last penny in their pockets to anyone in need, but now they are the ones in need. Please help them start over with rebuilding their home.
Thank you for reading and helping in any amount possible.
Stay strong Nova Scotia.
Also, if anyone wants to help out and not use this platform, please message me as I have an account set up to accept donations for them
