Help Valerie Find a Kidney
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,
We started this GoFundMe page for our dear friend Valerie Day and her amazing family. She’s a mother, grandmother and friend. For any of you that may not know, Valerie has End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and is desperate need of a life saving kidney transplant. She currently goes to dialysis 3 to 4 days a week, 3 to 4 1/2 hours per day to keep her healthy. It’s been tough on Valerie and her family. It often feels like an uphill battle.
Valerie, as you all know, is a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. But with her faith in Jesus, and with family around her, she has managed to stay positive in light of her struggle. Everyone is so proud of her strength and there is no doubt that her faith will pull her through these tough times. It’s not easy and we are all hoping and praying that we can find a kidney for her soon.
We set up this GoFundMe page as a communication platform to we keep all of Valerie's friends and family up to date on her status and progress. As you can imagine, it’s not easy finding a donor and her ongoing medical expenses are difficult to cover. Her blood type is A Positive (A+) and she’s currently on a wait list at the Keck Medical Center at USC - Living Donor Unit.
If you are interested in helping you can go to: usclivingdonor.org and fill out the questionnaire for the living KIDNEY donor at the bottom. You can request your kidney donation go directly to Valerie, she will be next to receive a kidney. You can also offer to donate to anyone else, she will be moved further up the list, but, may still have a long wait.
It is a major, life changing decision. If for any reason you don’t want to or you are unable to donate, you can get the word out in hopes someone will step up and be a perfect donor for her. The Day family thanks the many friends and family who have reached out to support Valerie.
