I’m raising funds for my sister’s best friend, Valeria Estefany Flores Lantigua, who urgently needs reconstructive surgery. Valeria has been diagnosed with complete obliteration of the female urethra and currently lives with a suprapubic cystostomy. She depends on a catheter to urinate, and she needs this surgery as soon as possible.

Valeria’s case is complex, and there are no specialists in her country who are able to perform the procedure she needs. Because of that, support is being sought to bring Dr. Angelo Gousse from the United States, a urologist subspecialized in pelvic floor disorders and female reconstructive surgery, to perform the operation. The surgery will need to be done in two stages.

The procedure costs approximately $18,000 USD, and it is not covered by Valeria’s health insurance. Donations will help cover the doctor’s professional fees, clinical expenses, surgical assistance, anesthesia, and hospital admission days. Valeria and her family do not have the funds to pay for this surgery on their own.
