On Friday, October 23, 2020, my parents were the victims of a scam. They received a phone call and due to the psychological and scare tactics that the scammers used, my parents fell victim and did exactly what they were told to do. They emptied their bank accounts. They lost $10,800. A police report has been filed and we are doing everything we are told to do but because it was cash, they were told that may not recover anything. I was able to recover $600 as I was able to use those gift cards before the scammers did.
They are embarrassed, hurt, angry, sad... feeling every emotion in the book. Right now, the nerves are setting in, as bills are due, drs visits, medications. I am doing as much as I can to help. I am going to be selling some of my things and give them the money for what I sell.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We can’t change the fact that this has happened, we have to move forward and trust that things will work out
Please pray for them, as their health is my #1 priority.

Please educate your parents, grandparents, and family members of scams and how not to fall victim of scams and fraud. Just having a conversation about this with them can stop this from happening to them
