TL;DR: Valentino has cancer and his health is declining. Ali is carrying this burden alone, but shouldn't have to. Help us help her!
Dear Friends of Ali & Tino:
On Valentine's Day 2016, Valentino walked into our lives for better or for worse. Ali rescued him from the East Valley Animal Shelter after falling in love with him from a heartwrenching Facebook post about his intake. "Bear" had been "donated" to the shelter after spending years tied up to the side of his house. And that wasn't his first time at the shelter either.
It turned out that his life before Ali was harder than we knew. He had been abused his entire life and was human aggressive. Most people would have given up on Tino (at least two families already had) but not Ali!
Instead, she put every ounce of faith, and every last penny, into rehabilitating Tino so that he could live out his last years in a loving home. She even became a dog trainer out of it and has helped countless other dog owners. If you have ever met Ali then you know that she has given EVERYTHING to this dog.
This brings me to today, and why I'm asking for your help. If you follow Ali and Tino, you may have noticed that he has been wearing a brace on his leg. A few months ago Tino was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Ali has been very private about this because, as you can imagine, it is very difficult to talk about.
His health has been declining since then, and unfortunately, it is getting worse. We don't know when it will be time for him to cross the rainbow bridge, but we want to be prepared so we can support Ali in what will likely be the most difficult time in her life.
Any money raised will go directly toward the tremendous debt and expenses accrued for Valentino and his medical care. Ali will not know about this fundraiser until it's Tino's time to cross over.
In just a few short years, Valentino has changed Ali's life, and many of ours too. Ali has been carrying this burden alone, but she shouldn't have to. Please join me in supporting her in this difficult time. Our family is so grateful for all of your love for Ali and Tino!
