Hi, my name is Valentine!

I’m a 21 year old nonbinary person.

My first memory relating to my gender transition was 12 years old— before I knew what being transgender was, puberty hit me and I felt incredibly intense dysphoria around my chest. I always wore baggy shirts, and had very early on started searching for ways to bind, or flatten, my chest without even knowing why, or what it meant.

Of course, that was a long time ago. I am older now, but my chest remains this distressing reminder of the difficulties surrounding achieving androgyny. I can’t articulate how it affects me on the day-by-day, or the effect it has had on me for nearly a decade, but I can tell you how excited I am to finally have the opportunity to change what has been a facet of my pain for a very long time.

The expected out-of-pocket cost of surgery would be $7,145. I currently work two jobs, and I am also a full-time student. I am creating this fundraiser to help with the financial aspect of surgery!
