Update on Valentina

Valentina didn’t have just have a boo-boo…I just experienced the most heart painful and gut wrenching experience with my fur baby!! I thought for a moment that I was to lost my baby…X-rays and camera footage later, we discovered and confirmed that she was hit by a car!! My sweet 2 pounds baby had 6 ribs broken and 3 fractures on the pelvis…The waiting process to know if my baby could be operated and the uncertainty that if she could survive this terrible accident and the whole process, is one of the experiences that have shaken me to my core

I thank all my family, friends, sweet students and coworkers that gave me words of encouragement and prayed for my Valentina! Specially my sweet sweet students that asked me every day for an update of Valentina and that were very concerned for her!!❤️ They’re the ones to encourage me to do a GoFundMe when they get word that the expenses were over 6,000 and that I don’t have an idea how I’m going to pay!!

I thank God every day for the amazing and talented Dr. Cody Doyle (Board-certificate Veterinary Surgeon, specializing on small animal) and the BEST TEAM and amazing staff of MedVet Mandeville in Louisiana!!! Words can’t describe how empathetic, professional, friendly and sweet they are!!❤️ I thank also Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center Fl for taking care for my baby the first two day after the accident and for the referral to Dr. Doyle!

There’s more challenging coming of Valentina’s recovery, physically and financially; but I rest in the mercy of God! The important thing is that this Wednesday I was told she’s going to be FINE! ❤️ She’s young, the surgery was a success and she has a “mama bear” that fight for her and with her!‍♀️

I am usually reluctant in asking for help, specially financially; but this emergency cornered me and brings me to my knees…All help is profoundly appreciated!! Your generosity and support during this difficult time, amazes me!❤️
