Valen’s Journey
Donation protected
Update:::
Valen and his momma will be in the hospital in isolation at least until March, 2023. Bone Marrow Transplants aren’t done until the baby is at least 8 weeks old and then he will be there around 6 weeks after so they’re going to be there for quite some time.
There will be many expenses for this family along the way and help will be needed. I want to thank everyone for their donations and to anyone else who donates later. Thank you so much.
Valen’s momma is my cousin so this hits home to me. Thank you.
Valen has tested positive for a genetic disorder called SCID on his newborn screening.. they had me bring him back in to do further blood work to either confirm it or being a false positive... Last night I received another call saying they wanted us to be in isolation in Kansas City while we waited on theresults ... Well, its now a confirmed diagnosis... I don't think my mom heart or mind has quite accepted it yet. And at this point IDK exactly what the future holds. But I do know from what I've seen so far, this little boy at definitely has a ton of ppl behind him. Even though this is not what we wanted to hear, I know that with everyones prayers, somehow, this will all be ok... I appreciate everyones concerns and I will continue to update as things move forward....
They have taken his blood to send off to try and find a donor for bone marrow transplant. Kailee and Gerald will need help with travel expenses and food expenses and probably more. It’s hard to predict what they’ll need right now. They also have a 4 year old and he prayed for his baby brother and kailee found out she was pregnant. Valen is very loved. ❤️
