Hi, I am Heather and I foster for a wonderful rescue in Boston. In December, Valencia & her sister Vienna were in need of a foster so I stepped up for these 10 week old kittens.
Shortly after intake both sisters were extremely sick. Both of them with High Fevers of Unknown origin. Despite after many tests, we were not able to save Vienna. Heartbroken we had to let her go in February. With that said, we are determined to save Valencia!! She has been a such a FIGHTER with fevers reaching as high as 107 (very scary). She was hospitalized once again in April. The Non-Profit rescue has been stretched to its limits, as vet care is SO expensive.
Now there is no more money! I have personally contributed thousands of my own, but it still isn’t enough. If anyone who is able to assist me in this fight for Valencia’s life. She spiked a fever over the weekend once again. Back on steroids. Thank you…
I hate to ask for help but know this 7 month old kitten deserves to live!! It will break my heart to have her euthanized. As many of you know, I’ve been fostering for 6 years & this by far has been the most challenging.
Medical details:
Valencia has been diagnosed FIV+ and suspect Ocular FIP - which is deadly if not treated with expensive meds. She has started treatment at $35 a day for her meds, followed by blood work to monitor her progress. Minimally this is an 84 days treatment.
I will continue to post updates. Please share… every little bit makes a difference.
Thank you SO MUCH
