Vale Jai - a humble Titan

Thank you everyone for your support of Jai, Bec, Mackenzie and Evie.

Jai passed away at home on Wednesday 23/10/24 at the too young age of 42.

Jai was a “fixer”, a creative, pragmatic problem solver. No task or challenge intimidated him. Staunch to last breath, Jai was still directing the sculpting of his family’s forever home during his final days.

He’s the toughest man I’ve known and he, Bec, his girls and his medical team left no option untried or unexplored. His greatest frustration was that he couldn’t craft a solution to his predicament so he could be around to love and laugh with Bec and nurture his two daughters into adulthood.

Below is the introduction of Jai’s battle which began a little over 18 months ago. While he may have lost this one fight, Jai won at life and showed those who knew him how to live a life worth living.

Any support you can provide to Bec and the girls as they embark on life without Jai is greatly appreciated.

Meet Jai, a humble Titan

Loving partner of Bec and doting father to MacKenzie and Evie. The staunchest mate a friend could ask for, a savant of all things building and construction, and generous beyond measure. He’s a humble titan of a man. I introduce him to you because he’s the last one to ask for help nor think he’s worthy of it. If you asked him, he’d tell you he doesn’t need it - I know because I asked him.

Eight years ago Jai beat cancer. Six monthly scans ever since have proven so. In his early 40s, Jai is in the final stages of building his family’s ‘forever’ home. Now he and his family are also in a fight for his life.

Jai is fighting a new, different type of cancer that was outside the field of the six monthly scans so went undetected, and it has spread beyond the primary site. Jai and Bec are already planning the sale of cars and their home to support Jai’s treatment and prepare for the future beyond that. I’m hoping we can avoid some of that and lessen the impact on the kids, and Bec and Jai.

Jai faces months of aggressive chemotherapy which should enable the surgeons to then go to work. The goal is cure which will be at least an 18 month journey during which time it will be mostly tools down for Jai.

Thank you for any support you can provide to Jai, Bec, MacKenzie and Evie even if it is a simple share of this page.
