Val, Laurie & Chris AXTENS - Lismore Flood 2022
Donation protected
Hello -My name is Kathy Alexander and my husband is Peter Axtens. We live in Sydney.
I’m reaching out for help on behalf of Val, Laurie and Chris Axtens.
Val Axtens is my 91 year old mother-in-law who lives in the Axtens family home in Slater Street, North Lismore with my brothers-in-law Laurie and Chris.
Val has been a Senior Citizen of the Year in Lismore and is a truly kind woman who has done wonderful work for the annual Lismore Eisteddfod for over 40 years. Along with Val, Laurie has been a big supporter and contributor in the Lismore community.
This 2022 monster flood saw them evacuated from their home by boat for the first time ever!

The family home was inundated and Val, Laurie and Chris have lost everything, their entire life’s possessions, including cars.
Laurie is an Osteopath and operated his practice rooms from a section of the house. Extremely tough to lose your home and your business and your livelihood a the same time.
Sadly theirs is one story of many in the community.
Sadly theirs is one story of many in the community.
If you can spare some funds they would really appreciate it and it will directly assist them to start to repair damage to the house to make it safe and habitable; and to begin rebuilding their lives in a community they love.
A massive thank you on behalf of Val, Chris and Laurie.
Peter Axtens, my husband, is currently with the family in Lismore and helping on the ground. Also a massive thank you from Peter and brother Bruce in WA.
Take care ❤️ and stay safe
