Train Controller... He is one of ours...

Some of you have already heard and some of you haven't but for all of you, this is what's going on. All of this started out with Ken having some headaches. He's never really had headaches before so after a couple of weeks he went to the doctor for a CT scan. The doctor called him back the next day for an MRI and the next day he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and that's when the emergency surgery was scheduled. That was on November 30th. The doctors were able to remove 98% of the tumor. After waiting for the pathology test to come back 2 1/2 weeks later, it was confirmed that it was cancer. It was decided then that it needed to be treated aggressively and he would have 6 weeks of daily chemo and radiation. It started on his birthday which was January 4th. He's been using FMLA and sick leave and vacation and has burned through it all.

Now, this is where WE come in. Can we come together again?


I think that we have the ability to pull this off. It's what we do when any of us are in need and to know that we're helping him and his family should be reason enough. His wife is a school teacher and we all know that teachers are not compensated as they should be but it comes down to Ken being the bread winner... There are hundreds and hundreds of us who can give and we did this before so we can do it again!!!
Donations can also be given directly to Christine (Perez) Peon Del Valle or Mike Perez...If you don't know who they are... just ask around but seriously, how could you not know???

We will also have people in each yard that can collect... I'll update with who those people will be as soon as I find out...

As always, any amounts are accepted and welcome because we know that every dollar makes a difference..

Please share this with as many people as you possibly can. He is more than deserving of the love that we have the ability to give. Disregard the time he made you crank, forget the time he made you do the read back 4 times, don't hold on to the time he rushed you... :)

Dig deep and do all you can do please. You can still donate vacation time as well... Everything is an option..
