My sister celebrates her 33rd birthday today. She is smart, funny, loyal, dependable, and my best friend. She is the “hostess with the mostest” and the person everyone relies on when they need something. She can bake better than Carlos (I swear) and dreams of opening her own bakery one day. She is a daughter and a sister, a wife and a mother, and now, a cancer fighter (and soon to be, cancer survivor).
This Feb, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. We have no family history of the disease and no genetic predisposition so needless say, it was a complete shock to all of us. She left her job at American Express last Aug to stay at home and raise her two kids, Sophia (4) and Lucas (2). Instead of focusing on being a mom, she started chemo and is now focusing on staying alive. Treatment began in March and will continue until Aug after which she will still need a mastectomy, radiation, and finally reconstruction surgery. It’s a LONG road.
She is already so overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from friends and family far and near, and so many folks have asked how they can help. Here is your chance.
The cancer fight is hard, but it is also expensive. She is too humble to ask so I am asking for her: please consider donating. Every penny counts and no one is more deserving of it than her. The funds will be used to offset medical expenses and childcare costs so she can concentrate on getting better.
She will beat this, I have no doubt. Please consider helping her fight the battle so she can win the war.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
