medical expenses for John Santos

As many of you know, my husband John Santos has been in the hospital since Aug. 24th. What started as a simple dentist appointment for oral surgery quickly turned into a nightmare. Within an hour, he was admitted into ICU at Castle Hospital. He had an infection which got into his blood stream causing him a 105 fever and hallucinations. Because of the swelling, they had to intubate him and put him into a medically induced coma. Four days later, it was time to wake him up and take out the breathing tube. Dr's said he should've been up within 20 mins or so but no matter how hard we tried, 4 hours later he still wasn't up. The Dr's then sent him for an MRI which showed he had several mini strokes. They weren't sure when it exactly happened because that's not what he was there for or the severity of it. That night he was transferred to Kaiser ICU as his vitals stabilized. They took another MRI and confirmed the strokes. He was there for another week but was now awake. According to his scans, John should've been completely paralyzed. It was obvious it did affect his right side but he was still moving it a little and trying to talk proving the scans wrong. John has now been moved to Aloha Care and Rehab where he's slowly improving and making progress everyday. He has several therapists working with him on walking, talking, and his memory because they're still unsure how much the strokes have affected him. He still has a lot more to go and even when he does go home, he's still gonna need in-house and outpatient therapy. I have been by my husbands side day and night but I'm having to go back to work to try and keep up with our normal bills. Anyone who knows John knows he's always the first one to step up and help others if he can, even if it's just to cheer up the next person. I'm definitely not one to ever ask for help but the cost of his care and medication is getting really costly and I don't want that to affect him.
