Help Vahan to walk again

Donation protected
I am writing this for my son, Vahan Eloyan, who is 37 years old.

About three years ago, Vahan received a routine flu shot and was left paralyzed from the neck down. He has spent every day of the last three years in a wheel chair. He relies on my husband and me (his mother) for everything.

Vahan has endured and overcome many difficult challenges throughout life. He was born in the Soviet Union with mild form of Cerebral Palsy (CP). During his childhood, Vahan fought for his freedom and the ability to participate in everyday activities. It was a long hard fight to follow his little sister but he learned how to walk and became completely independent. We ultimately immigrated to California when he was 6 years old. Despite all the challenges Vahan faced, he was able to graduate from California State University Channel Islands and completed two years of law school.

After graduating law school, Vahan married and looked forward to starting a family with his wife. Exactly one month after his wedding, Vahan’s paralysis began. In 2016 Vahan received a seasonal flu shot and developed Transverse Myelitis, which is an inflammation of the spinal cord. After doing research, we discovered that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recognize Transverse Myelitis as a possible side effect of a flu vaccine.

Now, as a paraplegic, Vahan is under 24-hour care. My husband and I never left his side for three years. As you could imagine, my husband and I are nearing 60 years of age and are finding it more difficult every day to take care of him. Although it is difficult and the recovery process is very slow, we are determined to stay with him until he regains his mobility and freedom. The recovery process requires years of physical and occupational therapy. We have looked into many options, such as Stem Cell therapy and other domestic and international recovery centers, to give him a chance at recovery. However, these treatments are extremely expensive.

After three years of providing constant care for Vahan as a family, we are running out of our savings and are very close to losing our home.

We are doing everything we can, but we need help! If you are able to contribute financially, it would be greatly and deeply appreciated. If you’re not, we ask that you keep Vahan in your prayers. Please help Vahan walk again!

If you have any question to vet my story further please ask.

God bless all. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
