As we transition through this thing called life and mature in the process, along the way we learn lessons that nothing in life is guaranteed. Although we plan and prepare, the journey may lead us to some unaccepted challenges. This was the case with our beloved Nicole back in January of 2020. A normal Doctor's visit turned into a nightmare. Never do we follow up on a symptom that is causing us to feel ill or uncomfortable and expect to hear the words Colon/Liver Cancer uttered from your physician's mouth however, this was indeed the cause for Nicole's frequent stomach aches.

The news was such a surprise to family and close friends once Nicole made the hard decision to share the piece of the puzzle on what was causing her so much discomfort.

It was devastating to say the least but as Nicole is and forever will be a fighter. From day one she has inspired so many with her positive thoughts and eagerness to do what is right for her condition in-order to beat this Cancer. In the mist of all this, Nicole continues to allow her star to shine bright and is thankful for every day given to her.

Nicole is currently in a place where she is literally fighting for her life. This is an emotional experience for her alongside family. Here you have a woman that has always been independent, lived life on her own terms, raised two children on her own, while making it look effortless. Self-sufficient, and most importantly for several decades had made a choice to eat heathy meals to avoid any sort of disease attacking her body. Now she's in a place where she depends on family to help care for her. It's a huge adjustment from the previous way she once lived and can be frustrating at times as Nicole doesn't always have high energy due to weekly Chemotherapy Treatments to care for herself.

For those of us that doesn't know much about Colon Cancer, until recently Colon Cancer patients had poor prognosis however, with more treatments being available people like Nicole can beat this disease with continued care, loving home environment and healthy meal's daily.

The burden of dealing with this disease is costly unfortunately.
