My daughter bravely ended a relationship with her ex/sons father who put her through such unimaginable mental emotional and physical abuse for 9 years!! She has been so strong through the whole process and I couldn’t be more proud for her taking the first difficult and courageous steps in starting a better life! I also was an unfortunate victim to his untreated mental health issues and he became violent towards me as well. My daughter and I have many general household and sentimental items that got destroyed in his rage path…some of which are irreplaceable! The cost of replacing some household items like a oven/stove, 2 different bedroom doors, and repairing many holes in walls and ceiling around the home (just to give you a few examples of many) have taken a toll on both our financial and mental health! There’s still many unfinished projects that need tending to but with my daughter only working 2 days a week due to loss of childcare and myself still working full time, it’s close to impossible to getting them done! There’s so much more involved with these projects than the practical reasons, it’s also an emotional healing process to make things feel safe and normal again for all of us! There are programs we've applied to for help with replacing medical equipment like 2 pairs of glasses he broke and upgrading our security system but they have limitations when it comes to materialistic items. He destroyed my 3 year old apple computer, 3 iPads I had to continue replacing, my stove door was smashed in and no longer has glass nor can be repaired! My daughter and I are both very hard workers in life and hardly ask for help, so its a big step to put our pride to side and genuinely ask for the generosity and empathy of the folks in our lives. My daughter, grandson and I deserve peace and uplifting after all we've been through in the last 9 years, my daughter most especially! I wish I could have done more to help her or make her feel like she had a safe space to be. This is my way of making that happen even though its after the fact! Please donate what you can or leave a kind comment! All forms of support are appreciated! We understand there’s people in far more dire situations and we will do our part to pay it forward!Organizer and beneficiary
