Vader's Journey for Recovery
Donation protected
On December 13th 2017 Vader went to the vet for his right knee. The doctors said (without X-rays) that he has a partial torn ACL and prescribed Vader a pill called Meloxicam. December 26 we went back in for a checkup, and the doctors told us (without X-rays) that he has now completely torn his ACL and would need TPLO surgery to fix it. That night and the next day, the 27th, Vader vomited a few times with one being consisted of blood. December 28, we took Vader back to the vet and he finally got X-rays/ultrasound's which showed a perforation(hole) in his intestine area. We were told that there was less than a 50/50 shot surgery will help. The doctors "gave" us the option of driving to Wheatridge for emergency surgery or to put him down.
Life is greatly worth living for, everyone deserves a chance!! We rushed Vader to Wheatridge Animal Hospital where he underwent surgery that night. In the morning of the 29th Vader was stitched up and out of surgery by the grace of God and his team! The next day we received the best news that Vader was doing well and showing positive signs.
Doctors discovered the reason for the perforation in his intestine was due to the Meloxicam pill the doctors had given him to treat his partial torn ACL (Dec. 13th). With prayers and love Vader is on his journey to recover although it is very hard for him since he still has a torn ACL. Doctors said as soon as the incision's and stomach area heals completely he can go ahead and have his knee fixed. Vader James is being so strong and fighting through all of his troubles to show he's ready to recover.
Please help this loving, emotional support Great Dane, he has so much more to give and life to live! Vader James is a handsome 5.5 year old, 150 lb, sweet boy! He has 2 loving parents and a younger Dane brother, Oakley, who he adores and who adores him. Vader made the move out West from Georgia to the Colorado Rocky Mountains! He loves to nurture others, hike, play soccer and be outside in nature. Vader is the most trusting and loyal member of the family. Teaching all of us something new or wise more frequently than imagined. Vader is filled with joy and compassion, truly that amazing, icon dog! We can't wait to fully heal him and he would be more than thrilled to share his love with you!
This emergency has reached over $14,000 so any $ donation would help alleviate the financial burden and help Vader recieve the best care!
