Vada’s Road to Recovery

Hi everyone,

This is Vada — our 64-pound Doberman/Lab mix, our shadow, our protector, our heart. We adopted her from a shelter when she was just 3 months old. Since that day, she’s given us nothing but unconditional love, loyalty, and comfort, especially during our hardest moments.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.

A few weeks ago, Vada was attacked by an off-leash dog during what should have been a routine walk. In the chaos, she tore her ACL (CCL), and since then, her condition has rapidly declined. She can no longer put any weight on her leg. Watching her try to stand, only to collapse, has been absolutely heartbreaking.

We’ve done everything we could: pain medication, rest, alternative treatments, but nothing has helped. The only real option now is TPLO surgery, which gives her the best chance to walk again, to run pain-free, and to live the full, happy life she deserves.

Truth is, we’re struggling. I haven’t been able to work much due to ongoing seizures, and the financial weight of this unexpected injury is more than we can carry alone.

If you’ve ever loved a dog, you know how deeply they love us back. They sit beside us when we’re sick. They stay close when we’re scared. They never ask for much — just our love. And Vada has given us hers endlessly.

We want to be clear: Vada will be getting this surgery early next week. No matter what. She’s our family, and we will not let her suffer.

We set the goal at $4,000, never expecting to reach it because the truth is, every donation, every share, every message of love for our girl has already meant more than we can put into words. Her surgery costs more than that, but that doesn’t change a thing. She’s getting the care she needs, because when you love a pet, you love them with your whole heart. You fight for them, you show up for them — just like they’ve always done for you.
