THE VABA Bruins 10th-grade AAU basketball team is raising money to help cover registration fees and travel costs for its players as they prepare to compete in a series of regional tournaments this spring and summer. The costs to rent local gyms for practices, order uniforms, register for tournaments and book lodging for a few out-of-town tournaments add up quickly for the players’ families and the team’s volunteer coaches.
We are committed, though, to making sure that every one of the team’s 13 talented players from Albemarle, Charlottesville, Monticello and other area high schools can play, regardless of their families’ economic circumstances. Your contributions will help us provide much-needed scholarships for families who may need some extra help paying team fees.
A pledge of any size would be greatly appreciated. Help us spread the word!
