ARFID AWARENESS

My initial aim was to raise funds through the charity fun day but after quite a few messages of people who can’t make the event but still wanting to donate I figured I’d set up a go fund me alongside

As some of you may know already.. Ellis suffers from an eating disorder called ARFID.

ARFID is a complex eating disorder and stands for avoidant restrictive food intake disorder.

It affects Ellis in many different ways and has led to 9 hospital admissions in 12 months due to the complications that come with it.. which has now resulted in him having an NG long term.

ARFID is extremely unrecognised and currently there are no treatments or pathways available due to there being so little knowledge and understanding of the condition.

Despite Ellis being under a team of specialists who monitor him closely, he is yet to receive any significant help in terms of ARFID and we’re still in the same position we was 4 years ago when I first reached out to get him some help.

That being said I remain on a mission to raise awareness of this awful condition and hope that one day there will be some future services/support available to him.
