Hey there, friends! Kornelia and I are getting married in May!
We're super excited about the wedding and for her to, eventually, make the trip from Canada to the US. We're elated to start this new chapter of our lives, and to get to do ministry together; it has been such a joy to walk through every new piece of this process with God, and with our communities.
(Un)fortunately (depending on how you look at it), the wedding is only the beginning... The immigration process, which will begin as soon as we're married, is timely and expensive, and we simply can't cover that cost alone. We're hoping to raise $3,000 to help us cover that cost — to make Kornelia part of our community with the least amount of stress possible — and we would be so grateful for your help in making that hope a reality.
$2,800 of the $3,000 will cover the various government fees, and the fees to have an immigration lawyer walk us through that process to give us the best and most expedient path through the immigration process. The remaining $200 will cover GoFundMe's fees (~$100), and give us a little breathing room for any unforeseen legal fees along the way (~$100).
I can't quite express how much your support would mean to me, and to Kornelia and I both; we've been dreaming about the wedding, and dreading the immigration process for so long and it takes a lot for either of us to ask for help. However, we've also been learning that we often see God so faithfully move through our communities, and so we're asking for your help — while simultaneously believing that this is an opportunity for God to show us His faithfulness in the midst of something we simply can't handle alone.
We're so thankful for each of you, not just for your financial support if you choose to give it, but also for each and every one of you who has prayed for and supported what God has been doing in our relationship since the beginning.
