On Saturday, February 4, 2023, Jerrold Banks, Sr. passed away at the young age of 66 years old leaving behind a devasted family with only a limited ability to pay for Mr. Bank's final arrangements. It is with humility we come to the greater community to ask for assistance in covering the costs of laying Mr. Banks to rest.
Mr. Banks loved his six grandchildren Destiny Grace Valentine, Jonah Jose Banks, Keyshawn Steven Banks, Tatum Banks, Mayia Banks, and Tyson Banks. Jerry was an American who played in the Canadian Football Minor League and was once on a championship team. Jerry was also a Golen Gloves Boxer in America and also boxed in the Canadian Boxing Minor League. Jerry's claim to fame is having twice knocked out a now well-known American TV actor who later went on to stardom... out of respect to this actor, he will remain nameless.
Born in Brooklyn, Jerry was a huge Giants fan. In 1991, when the Giants defeated the Buffalo Bills with a last-second field goal, Jerry jumped up from his chair and screamed, "It's Good!" As he did so, his dentures came flying out of his mouth at like 100 mph only to slide under the project radiator.
Another notable aspect of Jerry's life was his love of cooking. Jerry's signature dish was Chicken Parm. Jerry's love of cooking was not just enjoyed by his family. Jerry had a big heart and for 7 years was the cook for a homeless shelter in Newburgh, NY.
Having given of himself to his family and his community, now Jerry and his family need the greater community to be there for them. Please consider giving to this noteworthy and charitable cause.
All funds donated are being received by Jerry’s son, Jerrold Banks, Jr. and will be used exclusively for his father’s internment.
