Tanya has been a part of the Sunshine Coast community for over 20 years. Chances are, if you’ve stopped by Molly’s Reach or the Blackfish, you’ve been greeted by her warm smile and her cheeky wit. Tanya has always cared for others, treating everyone like family while serving the community. As her illness has progressed, she has had to step back from work and has lost her daily connection with the people she loves.
Tanya is tenacious, outgoing, sweet, and kind. Now more than ever, she needs her community.
Recently, Tanya was diagnosed with aggressive and inoperable pancreatic cancer. While her biopsy results initially suggested treatment might not be possible, we’ve received an encouraging update—she will be starting chemotherapy to fight this disease.
We are seeking recommendations and exploring extra avenues of treatment to help Tanya stay stronger and more comfortable throughout this journey. The costs of travel, time away from work, and daily care have created a financial burden that is overwhelming for our family.
Anyone who knows Tanya knows she embodies kindness, patience, and empathy. She has always put others before herself and would never ask for help—but right now, she needs it.
