Help for my Brother in law Tim Boyce
Donation protected
Timothy Boyce and my twin Sister have been together for over 20 years. He is the most loving man, always helping others, and never asks much for himself. He was born with neurofibromatosis and in a lot cases the disease can stay dormmate for years. Tim's neighbor an elderly man ran him over at the age of 3 while he was playing with his brother in his family's front yard. It crushed his right leg and he spent several months in the hospital recovering. Because of this an otherwise dormmate disease began forming tumors throughout his damaged right leg. Tim is also a twin and his twin brother died from his neurofibromatosis at the age of 48 as tumors related to the disease developed in his heart. His Mothers life was also cut short and she died in her mid to late 50's. She did not show any symptoms until her late 30's.
Tim has been working since he was 15 years old and is still dragging himself into work everyday he can. He is struggling with trying to find a doctor who has the ability to treat him and/or will accept his insurance. He has found a doctor in Phoenix, AZ, but the costs involved with travel and lodging and the medical bills are out of his ability to budget. I am trying to help him to apply for Social Security SSD, and they are telling us he must be out of work for at least 12 months to apply. I am not real familiar with all of these processes and I am just trying to get him and his wife some help financially with this awful situation. Tim is a very proud man, and in the past when I have tried to get him to at least apply for disability, his answer was always "I would not be able to pay my bills with what they would pay me". I have more pictures of my brother in law and want everyone to know he does not know that I am doing this. He and my twin sister reside in Las Vegas and I can give more details when and if this attempt / Plea for help amounts to anything. All I can say is that talking to my sister she is in tears and says he drags that leg into work almost every day and even his boss is saying "Tim I don't know how much longer you be able to work". The pain in Tim Boyce's leg is so intense that time is running out for him. No doctor will amputate his leg because this disease in most cases will move to a new location. The doctors tell Tim that removing his leg is a last resort. This disease intertwines itself around the nerves from head to toe's. It is only apparent when it is at a stage that causes it to start growing tumors, usually the cause of a trauma.
