Glenda Johnson lost everything -- her home and all of her possessions -- in a fire that occurred on Saturday night, October 27th. We are so thankful that no one was hurt, but by the time the fire was discovered, it was too late to salvage much of anything.
Glenda raised her daughter, Jamie, and helped raise her four grandchildren, Christian, Sydney, Makenzie and Jacob (who lived with her) in the home she lived in for over 52 years. So many memories made in that home and so many treasures, family photos, etc., lost. Please keep Glenda and her family in your prayers - they are just numb right now.
Glenda is a widow. Her husband, Bugs, passed in 2012. He had been a retiree of Enron and had lost all of his years of retirement savings when Enron went under.
Glenda's biggest need at this point is a new home, but without insurance it will be impossible for her to rebuild. Our hope is that with enough help, she can raise the funds needed to purchase a mobile home to move onto her property as well as furniture, appliances and whatever else is needed to furnish it.
Other needs include:
- if anyone in the area could provide heavy equipment and labor to assist with demolishing the burned remains of the old home
- containers for the waste and hauling it away
- furniture and appliances
- clothing and shoes
- other personal care items such as hygiene, laundry detergent or any other type of care basket items - just about anything you could think of
Please share and pray about what you can do to help. Her needs are urgent and immediate.
God bless you!
