Update: Melanie passed away Saturday morning peacefully and surrounded by family.
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we ask for your support of the Sampson family at this difficult time. Last week Melanie suffered from cardiac arrest brought on by hyperthyroidism and despite the best efforts of the emergency response team and doctors at GWU, she was put on life support. While the family continues to pray for a miracle, the doctors say that there is little chance of recovery.
For those of you who know Melanie, you know that she is an amazing mother, wife, daughter, friend and devout Christian. She is the heart and soul of her family. She has been her son, Dewey Junior's, champion as the family navigates his autism diagnosis, always making sure he gets the best care and unconditional love. She is an amazing wife and partner to her best friend and college sweetheart, Dewey.
We ask for your prayers and ask if you can to donate to help the family with medical expenses and the future. Any amount is welcome.
We will provide updates to the community here.
