Hello, I am making this as this is my last resort as I have been unable to gain funds for 2 years. To explain, I have been attending university since 2021, doing an accelerated practical filmmaking degree. I got into my university with a scholarship that cuts the original fees in half (See images below)
(image 1 is my scholarship letter and image 2 is the fees page on my university's website:)
And as seen in the image it explains, the government will pay for the full £20k that my entire course costs, so I have to pay the remainder of the fees. Student Finances will pay £14,400, leaving me to pay £5,600.
I was in foster care and have worked hard to build my future when I was getting hardly any support, I am on my own now and it is getting harder to find any help.
UPDATE:
I have until the 1st of October to pay this outstanding fee. I CANNOT GRADUATE IF I DO NOT PAY THIS. I know this is incredibly late, but I have been looking for support for 2 years from both my council and charities that offer help to foster care leavers going to university and I have been unable to gain enough to pay this off. The grants I received resulted in them being used to pay off bills (especially gas and electric) and I even had to use my savings to pay some of them off.
I would love to be able to graduate from this school and move on and continue on my path and this really is my last resort.
