I’ve created this page to support one of my very best friends, Nicole Heatherington, who is going through a very difficult time. 3 months ago, Nicole was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and is currently undergoing 6 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by a mastectomy, radiation, and hormone therapy.
Nicole is a loving wife to her husband, Craig; a wonderful mother to her 12 yr old son, Tavish; a daughter, sister, and a friend to many. She is also a Dispatcher with Edmonton Fire Rescue Services, where she has been a dedicated employee for the past 9 years.
Nicole is a wonderful person, one of the strongest, most selfless people I know, and has been one of the most loyal and loving friends in my life for over a decade.
Now is the time for some of that love to come back to her....
Recently, Nicole was told that her chemotherapy treatments may not be covered because of a new chemo protocol that hasn’t been approved by the government. She has been told that if this happens, it will be very expensive, and she won’t find out until after her surgery in late summer if the costs will be covered.
I have started this page in hope to help remove financial stress or burden that this may cause so she can focus on healing. If the cost of chemo does end up being covered then the funds will go to a donation of Nicole's choice.
Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help and surround her with love is what’s most important so she can focus on beating this.
