Priscilla is AWAKE and still FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE at an emergency vet where she will be hospitalized overnight, at least. She is currently fighting a wild fever between 103-106 degrees. Over the weekend Priscilla started miscarrying her litter (or so I thought). She went into PAWS for a spay this morning, April 9, 2024 and was discovered to have pyometra, a deadly bacterial infection of the uterus. "Her uterus had ruptured and had a mummified fetus inside her. A ruptured uterus usually only happens when there is physical trauma".
My heart is BROKEN for this precious gal who showed up at my doorstep five days ago. I swear the cats in my neighborhood have a group chat going on, because they always know how to find me, and I’m glad they do.
Hyde Park Cats is helping with her care but does not have the funds to cover this emergency care, especially, a hospitalization.
Please help us save this little gal. Every little bit helps!!!!
The vet is currently estimating a $2000 bill. I will continue to post cost estimate + bills when the info is known and update the donation request accordingly.
Want to join me in supporting a good cause? I'm raising money for Hyde Park Cats and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support. I've included information about Hyde Park Cats below.
Hyde Park Cats is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing stray and abandoned cats and kittens in and around the Hyde Park neighborhood in Chicago. We have no physical headquarters and depend on a network of volunteers to house our cats until they are adopted. Each year we find loving adoptive homes for about 200 cats after they have been spayed, neutered and vaccinated. We also provide emergency medical care when required. In addition, we serve as a clearinghouse for lost and found cats.
