I am fundraising on behalf of my friend, Houssam Sabah Alzubaidy, and his heartbroken family.

Sam is a devoted husband, a loving father to two children, and a loyal friend. While on a family holiday in Iraq, Sam’s life changed in an instant. He suffered a sudden and severe stroke at just the age of 43 and is now in a coma, fighting for his life in a hospital far away from home.

His wife and children are now stranded overseas. Sam did not have travel insurance. The medical bills have now exceeded $50,000 USD. Sam and his wife have already used all of their savings just to keep him receiving urgent care. They have nothing left.

We are urgently trying to arrange for Sam to be medically transported home so he can receive ongoing care surrounded by his family and support network. We also need to bring his wife and children home, as they have no financial support left.

This is why I am asking for your help. Every single donation will go directly towards covering Sam’s medical bills, supporting his wife and children while they remain stranded overseas, organising medical transport to bring Sam home safely, and paying for all flights so his family can return home with him.

Right now, Sam cannot speak. He cannot ask for help. His children cannot advocate for their father. His wife is carrying more than any human should have to carry. So I am standing here for them, asking on their behalf, with humility and urgency.

Please help us bring Sam home. Please help lift even a small part of this unbearable burden from his family. Please help give Sam a chance to recover surrounded by those who love him.
