I'm a single mom who has spent years doing everything I can to give my children a stable, loving home. For a long time, I had a few family members who helped me stay steady when life got heavy. They've since passed away, and for the last several years, it's just been me — working hard, taking care of my kids, and doing my best to keep us grounded.
Recently, I was diagnosed with leukemia, and everything changed. Treatment has taken me out of work completely, and my doctors don't expect me to be able to return for at least the next 6–12 months. I've always been independent, always found a way to make things work, but this is something I can't push through on my own.
Right now, my biggest needs are stable housing and a reliable vehicle. I need a safe place for my children to live while I'm going through treatment, and I need dependable transportation to get to appointments and take care of the basics of daily life. Losing my income so suddenly has made it impossible to keep up, no matter how carefully I budget or how many resources I try to access.
I've done everything I can on my own, and asking for help like this is not easy for me. But I'm trying to give my kids stability during a time that feels uncertain for all of us.
