This is Trevor. He's my 19-year-old son.
In June, after discovering a lump on his neck, he underwent a biopsy and surgery before discovery that he has Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma with Mass Cellularity.
The Oncologist has a good prognosis for Trevor. He will receive at least 12 chemo treatments, which he started last month. After that, because Trevor's tumors are very bulky, he will likely undergo at least 2 rounds of Radiation. There is a large mass (about the size of an iPhone before treatment started) sitting up against Trevor's left lung and his heart. This large mass may be difficult to shrink with chemo and radiation. So, the doctor's say he may need heart surgery down the line to remove the scar tissue.
Trevor has dreams of helping people as a EMT and firefighter. He is planning to attend school this Fall while he undergoes chemotherapy. He loves lifting weights and bodybuilding. On his good days, he still goes to the gym and lifts. He is a fun-loving older brother who has accompanied his sister to a dance at school and spent hours playing with and teaching her. He's a loving son who is always worried about how his dad and I are handling everything. He's a beloved older cousin, grandson, and nephew who is empathetic and kind.
Our family has been through a lot in the past 2 years, resulting in financial struggles. We have experienced - a collapsed ceiling, multiple vehicle repairs, refrigerator failure, dishwasher failure, lawn mower failure, legal expenses, sperm banking for Trevor, and many other extreme issues. Funds have already been taken from our retirement account and there are no more credit lines to use. One of the two vehicles that Sean and I use for work has failed, which is causing transportation issues as we try to get to work.
If you decide to help us, funds will be used toward:
-Transportation to and from appointments
-Pressing needs (prescriptions, comfort needs, food, etc.)
-Medical bills
-Help with monthly bills - time caregiving is time away from work
We are grateful for any amount of help that can be given!
