Mitchell & Family

My brother has been in the hospital, since Saturday morning. Very confused, couldn’t recognize any one of his family members around him, couldn’t speak.. only mumbling words, which no one could understand. He was admitted to the hospital. He was diagnosed with severe sepsis. The doctors are struggling to find out where the infection is. Every test comes back negative. He is on IV antibiotics and IV fluids. His labs are getting better slowly each day! He was more awake today, able to hold a short conversation. He’s been able to get up to the chair and move around ! Which is a huge improvement! He’s still very weak, and tired. He’s going to be off work unpaid, and Emily is standing by his side every day helping him, along with his family. Emily is also not able to work due to taking care of him and his needs. The hospital is short staffed, putting on his call light for help takes thirty minutes to an hour for help. Our family is in the nursing field so we understand! we have a family member there all the time. To help as much as we can. He’s much more alert today. He’s able to answer the orientation questions his nurse asks. He has got up out of bed to the recliner in the room. Every little bit of energy tires him out quickly though.

He is a son, grandson, a brother, a spouse, a father, an uncle. We are happy he is getting better and stronger everyday. His kids are his whole world!

He’s not able to work right now, and Emily has taken time off to help take care of him at the hospital. He needs all the help he can get for his family in this tough time. Thank you everyone for reaching out, it means the world! Mitchell hasn’t been awake enough to see his notifications on his phone, and respond back. But thank you everyone for reaching out and thinking of my brother! It means a lot!
