Food & Shelter for Nepal
Dearest friends,
Jesus' words in Matthew 25:34-40 haunt me:
‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
I'm begging you in the name of Christ, to partner with us in raising up to $5000 to use for buying tents/tarps, food, and water purification supplies for the countless number of devestated people in Nepal who have lost everything. THE SUFFERING IS INDESCRIBABLE! The monsoon season starts in June and after that winter is coming. The need is tremendous and the opportunities to share the love of Christ are great!
Sadly, the government is selling the supplies that come in, rather than distributing them. However, I have an opportunity to use 100% of the funds I raise to go directly to the purchase of these items at discounted rates from India and China and help a team of Christian volunteers distribute them personally. I'll be working with folks who have been missionaries in Nepal for close to 20 years and who are very familiar of the workings of the country and the needs of the Christians there.
As you may already know, we're personally funding a large portion of the travel expenses to make this happen. We're not asking for anymore help to make the trip possible, but we are begging you to help the hungry, homeless, greiving and broken in the name of Christ.
We appreciate your friendship so much, and thank you in advance for your much needed prayers and whatever else you may do for the people in Nepal. God BLESS you and to God be glory forever and ever.
In Christ,
The Wheelers
