We want to share a story about a wonderful strong woman who was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer 2 years ago. She fought hard, during an abusive relationship and came out as strong as ever. Escaping the abuse and as a cancer survivor, following a mastectomy and chemo treatment, she survived alone during the covid pandemic. Her positive mindset and outlook were absolutely inspiring. As a survivor she wanted to give back. She was nominated and held as a top 3 Fashion Hero candidate, using this platform to share the following in hopes of making a difference for others:
WHO AM I?
I am a recent breast cancer survivor. I survived a toxic relationship during my fight with cancer and a breakup when I had no hair. I support my kind and call out women who don't respect women. I have been called strong, a fighter... but I am just a survivor. I am self-studying fashion design to produce my own line to make every woman feel beautiful about her body no matter shape size.
WHAT DO I THINK ABOUT THE FASHION HERO TV SERIES?
Super fantastic! Our young girls need this shift. Too much cookie cutter looks and not enough individualism.
WHY WOULD I BE A GREAT ROLE MODEL FOR THIS GENERATION AND INSPIRE PEOPLE AS THE NEW FACE OF THE FASHION HERO?
I respect women and I'm a trailblazer. I don't follow. I lead. I don't break down others. I build. I would love to take that further on this platform if selected.
But this story doesn't have a happy ending. It’s with a heavy heart we share that the cancer has now returned as stage 4 incurable cancer, and we are devastated. Currently living by herself in Toronto with minimal support to pay for day-to-day expenses. As the fighter that she is, she has decided to take a trial drug in hopes of an effective treatment in an effort, at the very least, to fight harder to survive longer. This go fund me page is to help Chimene financially, so that she may reach her goal of survival. Her village is looking to raise $15,000 to help get her there.
Any support is greatly appreciated.
