Leo's Top Surgery Fund

My name is Leo. I’m a 22 year old trans masculine non-binary person living in Massachusetts. Throughout my journey of coming out and coming to terms with my identity, I have discovered that getting top surgery would improve my mental and physical health drastically. I have lived my life up until this point in a body that does not truly feel like my own. Having this procedure done would improve my life in ways that are not quantifiable. I have been on testosterone hormone therapy since April of 2022. After countless hours of research and looking into different providers, in August of 2022 I finally had my consultation with my top surgeon.

The total cost of the surgery I’m looking to have done (with the surgeon I feel will perform the procedure best) is estimated to be around $15,000. Usually, insurance will cover a portion of this cost, but due to a recent change in personal insurance, this is no longer the case. I am fortunate enough to live in the state of Massachusetts, where I have access to incredible medical facilities. Unfortunately, with the current healthcare system in place, and my current financial situation, I’m going to be needing a fair amount of help.

This being said, I will not be relying solely on donations to raise this money. I have plans to work with my shop to do some charity events, sell some of my work, and tattoo all day every day to meet this goal! I am merely setting the goal to the $15,000 amount to cover the cost of the surgery itself (not including the 6 week recovery period in which I cannot work). If for any reason I exceed my goal and am left with more funding than I need, I plan to donate any excess directly to other trans individuals’ campaigns raising money for their own surgeries.
