Hey everyone ! As you all know , I have a sweet 4 year old doggy named Scooby and if you have been following this journey then you know that he just had a major spinal surgery that all in all cost us around $16,000 upfront . Scooby had three spinal compressions and half of his spinal cord was very traumatized and discolored. Scooby is now home , recovering and overall doing very well , but our lives as well as his have been forever changed . Scooby is now a paraplegic. He originally could not feel from his mid back down meaning that he had no feeling or mobility in his rear legs . With therapy Scooby has gained lots of sensation back and has started to improve especially with his left leg ! Scooby still cannot control his own bladder or bowels . We are manual hand expressing his bladder around every three hours! Scooby’s therapy includes acupuncture, laser therapy , land therapy and water treadmill therapy and that is also extremely expensive (around $500 weekly). Scooby is now at the point in his therapy where he is being fitted for wheels ( a doggy wheelchair) and a custom wheelchair to fit his needs would cost us around ($700-800) so we are asking for the help of the public so that we can give Scooby the best quality of life possible .
