My name is Kayla Pittman, and since I was 13 years old, my dog, Miso has been my best friend. Miso is a rescue dog that was harmed by a previous owner before me. Ever since I have had Miso, he has always clung to me and been "my dog." My family always referred to him as my dog, and in college I took him with me for two years, until my living situations weren't good for him anymore. I was in small apartments living further away but would visit Miso often. When Miso and I reunite there are tears on both sides. Miso and I love each other deep.
The past few years my dog has been living with my father with a large yard, and many people to play with. Recently my father has decided he does not want Miso anymore due to his newer dog attacking Miso. I recently moved over a thousand miles away when my dad told me he was getting RID of Miso. He put my dog of 12 years on my recently widowed grandmother who struggles to take care of animals. She has been doing very well but my dog has been showing more signs of depression not having his usual yard, home, and routine. My dog does not have many years left of life as he is a Shih tzu and they often do not live super long. I want to reunite with my best friend and finally have the means, the space, and the place to support him. He has a beautiful area to walk and two companions to give him love here in my new home. For years I have been working for a place to support him and I finally have that. It is the journey that I am struggling with. I need help getting to my old home in Tennessee , driving, staying somewhere, to get Miso as I am in between jobs till October. I would be using the money for gas, a hotel for two nights, and a rental car if I raise enough because my car has too many miles to drive that far. I will be updating along the way of Miso's journey and with your help, his return. I miss Miso with everything in me and worry about him everyday. When I found out my father was getting rid of him I cried for days and would do anything to have him here with me. Miso gets very attached and also very sad when he has to leave home. I just want to give him the home and love he deserves. When Miso is in my care, he is always by my side, sleeping beside me, always in my lap. Your help means the world to me as so does my dog and getting him up here in Colorado with me.
