Hi my name is Melanie Vilchis. This go fund me is for my 3 year old dog Coco. She is a small mixed breed dog (11-20). She’s a lot of breeds, Mini golden doodle, Maltese and Shih tzu. She an amazing little dog. She loves to play, run around, can be a little lazy at times. But she a dog an girl can ask for.

Recently in the last month and half, things have changed. She started to feel discomfort in her back legs. Took her to the vet and saw nothing wrong. Gave her pain meds, was doing great. Was off of meds after that week and was still doing great. My little sibling accidentally stepped on her foot that week after. She was crying really bad that night and ended up taking her to the ER. They also found nothing and gave her more meds. Did great with those meds. Another week without them and still doing so well. The night of Halloween things changed. I had taken her to my boyfriends house (since he is co-owner of her) to watch her while I went to work. And things took a turn.

Her hind legs started to give out. She started to only put pressure on her back left leg and was lifting her right back leg. As the night went on while I was at work things got worse. The next morning 11/01/25 she lost all motion in her legs.

We took her to the hospital and turns out she had IVDD. Time is of the essence now and she needs surgery. Unfortunately this surgery is a lot of money. And I can’t afford it and also can’t afford her to not have this surgery. We weren’t told what grade of IVDD she has but it looks like she is at grade 4-5.

I’m asking if you guys can please make any small donations to please help me pay for this surgery for her. She is only three, she my first ever dog of my own and I just want to see her walk and run around again. I know everyone does this kind of thing, ask strangers for money. I know I’m not anyone special but if you can please help her that would be a gift.
