Help Chloe Attend the National Youth Leadership Forum

My name is Chloe Patton, and I am a junior at Norway Vulcan High School. I was recently invited to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum for medicine and healthcare down at University of Michigan. Some prestigious schools like Yale, University of California, Rice University, University of Michigan, and George Mason University come together to choose high-school students to go to gatherings based on their interests.

The trip is eight days long, spanning from June 25 to July 2. There, I will learn many different aspects in the health field. I will learn to take vitals, surgery practices, neurological exams, how to cope in high risk situations, patient care, physical therapy, and how to work with other doctors. There will be guest speakers from all over the world, and there will be many simulations of real life events. I am specifically going for clinical psychology, due to the lack of doctors that understand the youths’ minds. I have applied for a scholarship, but the rest of the cost will create challenges for my family and I. In order to be able to participate in this event, I am looking for sponsorships from friends, people, and organizations that believe in student success.

I have worked hard to balance my academics and the other aspects of my life. Standing at a 4.1 GPA, I try to take advanced classes in order to boost my understanding of the world. My most important extracurricular is swimming, but I am also involved in drama club, art club, community service at the Jake Menghini Museum, and Girlscouts. I am sitting vice president, and upcoming president of our Norway Drama Club. I have also been in Girlscout troop #5188 for eleven years, and I currently hold a leadership position as an ambassador. Because of these positions, I am able to learn what it takes to be a leader, and how to operate under stressful situations. I am also part of my church’s youth group, and we go on mission trips throughout the summer.

As you can tell, I am very passionate about both academics and extracurriculars. I am currently trying to raise $4500 for travel, food, clothes, and the trip itself. With your help, I would be able to experience what it would be like to help the world around me. Please consider, it is not just for a singular trip, but also for the success of my future. Thank you for your time and consideration
