As many of our friends and family. Know, our son Matthew (Matt) was in a serious car accident on October 8, 2020.  Among other injuries, he sustained a severe Traumatic brain injury. He has been in hospital for 14 weeks so far.  We want to thank all those who are continuing to pray for Matt. We know your prayers are being answered. He has come a long way already. Praise God! 

In the beginning we were told that this would be a marathon! That his recovery would be long and difficult. I think we are finally starting to understand that. We have no way of knowing how long his recovery will take.

Matthew is currently in Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC  He is  slowly improving, but has a long way to go. At the moment he requires lots of therapy, some of which is very painful for him. He does better when Rob or I are there to encourage him.  Therefore we are spending lots of time at the hospital. Since we live more than 2 hours away this means lots of travel and we stay in Vancouver several nights a week in a hotel so we can be at the hospital early enough to help with his therapy and his care. This is putting a strain on our finances. 

There may also be a need for specialized treatment and equipment both in the hospital and at home.
