Karen Kicks Cancer: Cancer picked the wrong fight
Donation protected
Thank you for taking the time to read Karen's story. Karen is a treasured friend and someone we all love dearly. We appreciate your prayers, donations and positive thoughts during this unexpected path that God has put her on.
Karen went in for her yearly mammogram two weeks ago and was asked a few days later to come back for a more in depth mammogram because they saw something suspicious that they wanted to investigate. That mammogram led to an ultrasound and later a biopsy. This past week, Karen was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS) and will have surgery on Wednesday to remove the cancerous cells. After surgery, Karen will need radiation and oral chemotherapy.
If you know Karen, you know that she is a faithful follower of Christ and she believes that God has put her on this path so that others may come to know Him. She is so strong and has great faith that God will lead her through this journey and that others can be helped because of what God is doing in her life. But still the journey is a scary one, both physically and financially.
Please consider donating to Karen and Steve as they face this time of hardship. Her medical deductible is 4000.00 so that is what we are trying to help her with. If you would rather donate in person, please drop off your donation at By George in Helena or you can Venmo (@KarenWest-305).
Note from Karen: Ladies, go get your mammogram!
