Cancer support for Sheila Long
Donation protected
Sheila is a dear friend to so many, including myself.
She is an active, vibrant, joyful, generous and artistic women who loves people and life. Everyone who meets her knows they have met someone special, someone who is fun, outgoing and cares about you.
The hardships of life do not stop Sheila from living in joy and optimism. That is why when recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer, it was no surprise she handled this path with grace and peace.
Sheila is a very talented artist and is willing to try just about anything creative. Over the course of her life she has painted, drawn (including pen & ink), done wood working, wire sculptor, wall/plaster sculpture, jewelry and so much more. She has given much of her work away and donated many pieces to fundraising events.
Sheila’s latest artistic endeavor was a wall/plaster sculpture. She decided one day that since she'd never done this and it sounded interesting, she would complete a piece for a co-worker. Sheila could have chosen a simple design, but that is not how Sheila works; if she’s going to do it, she’s going to do it with magnificence and intricate detail.
What you see here is her first “attempt” at wall sculpture (amazing isn’t it)!?
Beating this disease is a journey that will not be easy, but Sheila is up for the battle with the help of great doctors directing her towards the best chemo, surgery and radiation treatments available to her.
From the infusions every three weeks for a year; making the difficult decision between mastectomy or double mastectomy and worrying about how she's going to pay her expenses, Sheila will have to deal with more than anyone should in the year ahead.
Sheila would be the last to ask for help but the first to help others in need so as her friend, I've decided one of the ways we could support her is to create a Go Fund Me page on her behalf.
Our hope is that she will not have to struggle with the costs incurred during this long battle. Every donated amount (big or small) will Bless her.
THANK YOU!!!
