Steven's Charity Bake Sale

Our 13 year old son, Steven, has a passion for baking. He also has autism. At the age of 7, Steven declared that he wants to be a professional baker. We took his passion and turned it into a homeschool curriculum to teach Steven math, science, life and social skills, geography, reading and writing. This year, using all he has learned, Steven has organized a Bake Sale to raise money for children with autism in Brazil. 

The money we raise will go towards the purchase of therapy equipment for Algoas-AMA, a non-profit organization that serves children with autism and developmental disabilities in one of the poorest regions of Brazil.

This specialized equipment promotes physical activities which will help the children improve and gain motor skills (crucial to activities of daily living and self-help tasks), as well as provide moments of social interaction, recreation and relaxation.
