Help Willow, Our Family, and Our Dog Peter Through This Difficult Time

Our family is facing one of the hardest seasons of our lives. Our 1-year-old daughter, Willow, has been in and out of the hospital, our beloved dog Peter is nearing the end of his life, and unexpected bills have left us overwhelmed and afraid. We’ve always tried to stay strong on our own, but right now—we need help. My name is Sarah, my husband Dan and I have asked for help from the Compassion Fund at Dans work, to help us, but we were not selected for assitance. It's hard for us to ask for help but we are unsure what else we can do.

Willow’s Health Struggles

Willow is just 1 year old, and over the past few weeks she’s been rushed to the ER four times. Despite many tests, doctors still don’t have clear answers, and she now needs more testing at Children’s Hospital. Each visit brings more medical bills, and we’ve both had to miss work to care for her. Seeing her go through this without answers has been heartbreaking, and the financial strain is adding to the stress. Despite her health struggles she remains a happy girl who loves exploring and bothering her best friend, Peter.

Peter’s Peaceful Goodbye

At the same time, our sweet dog Peter, who has been with us- especially me- through every milestone—our wedding, moving into our first home, and Willow’s birth—is facing severe digestive tract failure. Peter gives us love, companionship, peace, and strength to keep going, even when our world is falling apart. We want to give him the loving, peaceful goodbye he deserves, at home surrounded by family, but the cost of in-home euthanasia and cremation is far beyond what we can manage right now. Saying goodbye is hard enough; not being able to do it in the way he deserves feels impossible. Before Willow, he was my sole hearts beat and now he is Willow's best friend.

Protecting Our Future Family

As if all of that wasent enough of a strain, our family's future is at risk. After struggles of infertility, we were blessed with Willow through IVF. We have frozen embryos waiting, giving us the chance to grow our family in the future. But if we can’t pay the storage fee that is due now, we risk losing that dream. We don’t want financial struggles of today to take away the possibility of giving Willow a sibling someday.

️ Extra Challenges

On top of all this, a series of unexpected home repairs—garage door breaking, furnace failure, AC problems and flooding in our basement—have drained our savings completely. We haven't even addressed all the long term problems of the flooding yet. These costs piled up at the worst possible time, leaving us with very little to cover what matters most right now: our daughter, our dog, and our family’s future.
