A Home for Hannah
Donation protected
Late Monday night, January 7th, 2019, Hannah was a passenger in a car that was involved in a freeway collision and she was rushed into immediate brain surgery to try and save her life. We count every blessing since then after God and her doctors saved our sweet girl and gave her a chance at life. Hannah spent about four weeks in the ICU and was moved to an acute care hospital because her condition was not improving. This amazing young woman was a collegiate dancer, a 4.0 Honors student in high school and college, member of her high school Christian club, cheer captain, choir president, Associated Student Body officer, La Palma Police Explorer, and homecoming queen. She is a hardworking, kind, quiet, and confident girl who can do whatever she sets her mind to. That has not changed since her accident although her life looks completely different now after suffering a severe traumatic brain injury. She has endured four different brain surgeries and this goes to show that this girl is a fighter! Hannah cannot control her body or communicate her needs but her radiant smile has been the first to come back. We are thrilled to be bringing our girl home this December after her two years of living in hospitals. Many of you have helped our family in countless ways since the accident and we could not be more thankful. Still, many are asking how to help and we have been cautious in asking for this, but the time has come for us to realize that we can't do this on our own. The costs of renovating our home to be ADA compliant are more than we imagined and any amount would be so appreciated. There is no real goal for this fundraiser because although the renovations will end, the care for Hannah will not. So many of you have been a constant source of support through your continuous prayers, cards, encouraging texts and phone calls. We are overwhelmed after all of this continued support that many of you still go above and beyond to ask if you can support us financially. We don't want anyone to feel like they have to donate, or that we are really asking, but feel it's important to provide an avenue for those who have asked. If you would like to learn more about Hannah and her continuing journey feel free to check out her CaringBridge website where we post updates on her condition https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/hannahcollins
Again, we are so grateful for everyone's continued prayers.
It's been a long two years and I am so thankful she is finally well enough to come home!
