Please help Niko

Niko was diagnosed with ADEM which is Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis. It is a very rare autoimmune disease. After 3 different emergency room visits with many CT scans he was finally admitted to Edwards hospital. He was barely awake and getting very lethargic. The ICU Dr ordered spinal tap to rule out meningitis, ultrasound and a MRI. Niko was going for a MRI and had to be sedated to keep him as still as possible which they put a vent in him which is routine. After MRI the sedative was wearing off and they were taking the vent out and he had numerous seizures and went into critical condition. From there the ICU Dr said he needed to be transferred to Luries children’s hospital as soon as he was stable enough to be transferred. As soon as they arrived to Luries they were 80% positive he had ADEM but needed to perform another spinal tap and MRI to confirm their suspicions. Niko is receiving 7 Plex treatments which is essentially a plasma exchange. He will need Physical,Occupational and speech therapy due to the swelling in his brain and spinal cord. Which will most likely be inpatient as they say he will need 5 days of extreme Therapy. As of today he is stable and awake but really not talking and is still weak. #Nikostrong. Nikos mother is not able to work right now as she has to stay by his side through this journey of recovery We appreciate any donation as every bit counts to help keep them afloat for medical expenses and anything else that will come up.
